Introducing Kinetic Automotive's first EV prototype

Seeing an excellent opportunity, and discontent with the maddeningly slow progress shown by the big 3 when it came to the development of viable production electric vehicles, Matthew (madmatt) and Robert (Wheels) started Kinetic Automotive to try their hand at building a quality and affordable EV.

We believe, with an emphasis placed on modularity and simplicity (a notion the big 3 are loathe to embrace), a quality electric car can be produced, and it doesn't have to be stunningly expensive. Employing these philosophies, we started work on our first prototype.

NOTE: We are roughly 80% completed with this prototype. Will update when project is complete, and will post the data we get from running her on a dyno.

Goals:
Range: 70 miles per charge.
Top Speed: 65-75 MPH
Weight: 1200-1400 lbs.
Cost: Well under $30K (considering trial and error, we plan to shave this figure by a good amount)

Employing a fiberglass body, with rugged steel chassis super structure, including roll-cage, 11" DC motor, 14KW battery pack, we expect a solid ride, low center of gravity, with high responsiveness.
